Legendary entertainer Bob Hope and wife Delores spent their final days in the sprawling 15,000 square-foot English traditional home situated in a 5.6-acre compound in Toluca Lake. While the couple owned a number of other properties, and for a time was considered to be among the largest private landowners in California, it was this property that was considered home:

Originally built in 1939, and renovated in the 1950’s, the home boasts a large main house, and a pool house, as well as staff quarters and production office. The home has eight bedrooms, and eight baths, with a stunning master suite complete with fireplace, dual bathrooms, sitting room, and glass sliding doors that lead to a huge terrace. There is also a library, billiard room, and bar, as well as a par-three golf hole, and both indoor and outdoor pools.

As stated in their obituaries, after living impressively long lives, each of the couple died at the home with Bob passing at age 100 in 2003, followed by Dolores passing at the age of 102 in 2011. And, according to their grandson, Zach Hope, the iconic comedian got in one last laugh. When asked by his wife where he wished to be buried, he replied simply, “Surprise me.”
